The Urban Collection is geared toward young consumers with a propensity to live closer to the urban centers of the wold than their predecessors. These consumers will sacrifice space for the cultural amenities of urban living. This is where multi-functional space meets multi-functional furniture while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The design here was generated as part of a proposal for Design Within Reach. The concept is to cross pollinate the various product categories within the DSW line of furniture to explore new typologies which emerge. The design shown here is a take on the Murphy Bed with a modern sofa which converts to serve as the foot of the bed.
